beautiful rich people

Luka Vonier

after gracious proximity to

the kentucky derby suits

dewy pores and staggering heights

we part

at the ferry

following

The Veuve Clicquot

Polo Classic

—which i catered

her bleeding edge

cheekbones are racks

for a cutaneous zeal

pulled tight

over a fierce jawline

tag-less

her down feather gaze

saunters through the

veil overflowing

from a petite

fascinator

as she asks

for a souvenir

and points

at my staff

lanyard

i hand her my head

start—a lineage

of missed

steps

a trip into

the tire fire

a stumble into

the trees

ablaze into

the forest clearing

making way for

the drab

enervated

commute

home

where

the days

drip through

the split

ceiling

—i wasn’t doing much

with it anyway

Luka Vonier is challenging the notion that anything can be art. Based out of New York City, they are a small city kid with a full year of big city living under their belt. Some notable highlights of that magical and eventful year: working as a cinematographer, making lifelong friends, falling in love with uptown, and being involuntarily admitted to the psych ward for two weeks. They are fresh out of college with an English degree and are currently looking for a job.
