Madison Murray

In Miami, it’s beautiful like Xanadu. Men drive cockily, everyone’s a sugar baby, and children don’t exist. David, my sugar daddy, says he likes “docile women” but somehow still likes me most. Every chance I get, I remind him that “my dad just died.” I’m wicked paranoid: of being outed, of being trafficked, of my father’s ghost haunting me. I call my therapist from a beach chair and she tells me to take niacin for paranoia and to imagine my dad’s soul on an island. As a prisoner there, he must relive his life through his daughters’ eyes. If he ever learns anything, he will be able to move onto the next life. It still won’t be a great life. Maybe he’ll be a worm or the last shit I ever take.
