I text the bus
for an automatic reply.
Waiting on you like
summer’s bits of pleasure.
It’s a hot July.
I’m convinced our great undoing
smells like temple moss
and cardamom evenings.
Then your lips get closer,
the bud of your mouth dripping.
Lick my tongue, my belief is this
poetry is prophecy.
